The company allegedly received contracts from Principle Academy Charter School to build an outdoor learning center.

The founder of a charter school has been indicted in an alleged scheme to award $115,000 in contracts to his own furniture manufacturer for the construction of an outdoor learning center that was never completed, Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin said.

For the second phase, the school accepted public bids, but Falkowski did not send the contractors necessary paperwork until three days before proposals were due, officials said. This resulted in Caporilli’s company being the only one to submit a proposal, authorities said. State Police executed a search warrant at the school in October 2022 and found that the area where the learning center was supposed to be included just a collection of wooden outdoor furniture in poor condition, prosecutors said.
