KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 10 government-linked and private companies signed the memorandum of cooperation (MOC) on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) education transformation with the government.

The companies comprise various main sectors such as oil and gas, automotive, hospitality, construction, aerospace, software engineering development, industrial 4.0 and industrialised building systems.

The industrial strategic partners involved in the MOC would be directly involved in the national TVET execution programmes through curriculum development, expert services, and training programme funding. “To Human Resources Minister V. Sivakumar, my target is that by the end of the year, we would ink hundreds more MOCs,” Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said in his speech here on Thursday .

Sivakumar said the participation of youth aged 15 to 24 in TVET was only 5%, adding that it was relatively low in comparison with developed countries.
