A powerful union has demanded the Albanese government reform 'cannibalistic competition' following the collapse of a popular Australian start-up company.

The Australian start-up, which was designed to take on the likes of Coles and Woolworths, will officially wind up operations on Friday and make its entire workforce across Sydney and Melbourne redundant.

“Milkrun’s collapse, following Send and Voly over the past year, follows a trend right across the transport industry of companies being forced out of the market by unfair and unsustainable competition,” a statement said. “Milkrun was a company trying to do the right thing by its workers, but you can’t do the right thing and stay in business unless there are minimum standards,” he added.
