Two former New Jersey residents fraudulently applied for and received $3.75 million in loans meant for small businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic and used the money for personal expenses, U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger said.

They lived in Farmingdale, Monmouth County, at the time that the loan applications were submitted, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
