BATU PAHAT: A company here was raided by the Health Ministry for selling unregistered medical devices to pharmacies and private clinics across the country.

Medical Device Authority surveillance and operation unit chief Dery Akmal Abdul Rahman said that the operation was conducted at Taman Perindustrian Wawasan at 10am on Tuesday .

"The first warning was issued in 2018 based on a public complaint as the owner was found selling two types of unregistered medical devices. The MDA had conducted six months of prior surveillance and investigations on the company before conducting the raid. "The use of unregistered medical devices is dangerous, as we do not know the kind of risk that they pose to our health," he explained.
