An altered video appears to show “CBS Mornings” anchor Gayle King and entrepreneur Elon Musk discussing investment opportunities for Canadians. But it’s not real.

The suspicious verbal slips keep coming as King’s alleged report continues:"Elon Musk presented his new project in which he has already invested more than $3 billion. Musk’s new project opens up great investment opportunities for Canadian citizens. No project has ever given such opportunities to residents."

The video makes it seem as though King went on to say, "Given the exciting features of the application and seeing how it works, we think it’s safe to say that the experience is legit." She then appears to say that the"CBS Mornings" program"asked Elon about this news, and here’s what his comments about it."stated on May 24, 2023 in an Instagram postBy Loreben Tuquero • May 26, 2023The post sharing it was flagged as part of Meta’s efforts to combat false news and misinformation on its News Feed. , from 2021, King talks to a news anchor for a CBS News affiliate in Boston about Oprah Winfrey’s then-recent interview with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
