AfroCentric, one of SA's largest medical scheme administrators, said on Monday Santam's CEO for client solutions, Gerald van Wyk, would take up the position of CEO with effect from the end of October. | News24_Business

Van Wyk has held various key positions throughout his extensive career, including executive roles at Santam, as well as leadership positions at Discovery Insure, Mutual & Federal and Hollard, among others, AfroCentric said on Monday.

Van Wyk is also past president and former executive council member of the Insurance Institute of Gauteng, it said - and,"as a result, he holds strong reinsurer, insurer, broker and service provider networks and relationships across southern Africa". His educational background is a BCom in Risk Management from Unisa, while he completed the Management Development Programme at Stellenbosch University and the General Management Programme at Harvard University.

Throughout his career, Schwulst has held various senior leadership roles, including serving as a director for several entities within the Liberty Health group of companies.
