Chambers addresses ‘stark’ warning about dangers of not completing projects at launch of first dedicated bus service for Phoenix Park

Jack Chambers; Patrick O’Donovan; Roderic O'Gorman; National Transport Authority chief Anne Graham; OPW chairman Maurice Buckley; Phil Donohue, head of HR and development at Dublin Bus; and Christoph Schwitzer, director of Dublin Zoo, and four pupils from Mount Sackville school at the launch of Route 99 to the Phoenix Park, which will operate from next Sunday.

The TII made its calculations based on evidence that a divided road with a vehicle restraint barrier is more than two times safer than a single carriageway road. The two Ministers were speaking at the launch of the first dedicated bus service for the Phoenix Park in Dublin. Route 99 will be operated by Dublin Bus and will run every 30 minutes seven days a week between Parkgate Street near Heuston Station to the visitor centre in the Phoenix Park. The first bus will depart the visitor centre at 9am and the last bus will depart at 6pm, with the service starting to operate from on Sunday, October 8th.
