Blayz Meredith is not your average teenager. During the day, the Perth boy goes to school, but at night he transforms from regular student to chief executive of what could soon be a global baking app — Got Cakey. “We’re hoping to launch in the UK by the end of this year too. I’m excited about the future and seeing where it goes,” the 14-year-old tells 7Life.

“We started by raising some private investment to trademark the name, Got Cakey, and so we could build an app,” Blayz says. Two fundraising efforts saw the fledgling business receive more than $800,000 in investments. “I was overwhelmed that so many people would be interested,” Blayz says. His Got Cakey app went live on January 15, 2024, allowing customers to get quotes and then purchase from cake makers in their area.
