It was only planned to run for a month.
Per the outlet, although timetables will vary from location-to-location, some plan to make the offer available through August. In a message signed by McDonald's Chief Marketing Officer Tariq Hassan and National Field President Myra Doria, the company said early performance data showed the $5 meal deal "is meeting the objective of driving guests back to our restaurant," per the outlet.
In the memo obtained by Bloomberg, McDonald's said it aims to bolster its "affordability plans through the rest of the year." According to Bloomberg, the memo also confirmed the possibility of extending the offer for an even longer period, as well as extended hours of operation to better serve customers during off-peak hours.Other chains have followed McDonald's in launching their own meal deals.
