Americans now say they approve of free trade by 64%-27%, a margin of better than two to one. That's up from 57%-37% early in Trump's presidency, and 51%-41% near the end of President Obama's tenure.

President Donald Trump said Sunday he doesn't want to do business with Chinese tech giant Huawei, after weekend reports that the administration was planning to extend a reprieve that allows it to buy parts from U.S. companies. The Wall Street Journal and Reuters reported that the Commerce Department was preparing to extend a license for 90-days which would allow Huawei to continue business with U.S. companies to service existing customers.

"We are open not to doing business with it," Trump said of Huawei. The current agreement is set to end on Monday. The Commerce Department put Huawei on a blacklist in May after Trump declared a national emergency over threats to U.S. technology. The blacklist blocks U.S. companies from selling or transferring technology to Huawei unless they are granted a special license.

did he spell correct?

realDonaldTrump I trust you’re going to make America Decentralized again

He wants $collapse I get him. He bought Greenland for a reason and it’s not for golfing.

He would if it came as part of the trade deal

Well china are fast becoming full blown communist so i think it's safe to stay at a distance.

Just lost the trade war tariff man, not so clever now.

NOW he has national security concerns.

He ain’t wrong.

The biggest national security concern in the US is Donald Trump.

ezralevant Very wise..

He wants to work with Tim Apple instead...

spencekimball Spence - is this a reference to US government purchases like Aug 8? “WH official later clarify that he was referring to a ban on U.S. government purchases of Huawei equipment, not requests for sales by U.S. companies, which are still being assessed.” -RTRS

whpresscorps I'm surprised he didn't say 'Hawaii'...

Good. Right decision. Germany and the rest of our Western European “allies” need to get wise to this, too.

Actually a legitimate concern.

Smart move Mr President 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

ezralevant The Anglophone 5 eyes GPS project could be fantastic - now that Theresa May isn't giving everything to China like Hillary Clinton was.

ezralevant Yeah I wish Canada has those same concerns. Every time I see the sponsored Huawei-Canada twitter ad I am suspicious.

Thank you realDonaldTrump for protecting the American people from communism!! 🇺🇸 MAGA

Apparently he forgot about this “national security concern” part last week.

Why is this the one threat he takes seriously? I mean, I'll give him this one. I agree. Is this like a blind squirrel thing?

No but Goldman Sachs wants to do business with a company so China can bury the USA as long as they make money not he deal!

has any extensive testing been done
