Atlassian co-founder Mike Cannon-Brookes believes the move will be good for profitability in the long termAttending the United Nations Climate Action Summit this week in New York, Mr Cannon-Brookes told 7.30 that Australian businesses craved"long-term government policy".
"We don't have a credible climate or energy policy in Australia at the moment," Mr Cannon-Brookes said."I think the Government should firstly set concrete targets, both for renewable energy by 2035, and secondly, to how we're going to get to a net zero carbon economy by 2050."

By 2050? Do it by 2025 or you are full of 💩. By the middle of this century all major economies will be running fusion reactors and the entire global energy budget will be negative emissions as we draw down CO2 for use in synthetic fuels. 🙄

He was very impressive on ABC730. Knows where he is heading and why. Able to explain clearly why it matters, why it's good for everyone and why it's good for his shareholders. Can the coal huggers do the same? Of course not. Emotional waffle will never trump calm logic.
