Op-Ed: Home prices are going through the roof. Millennials piling into the market is one big driver (via latimesopinion)

” for houses, notably outside major urban centers. Millennials are part of this dynamic, seeking to make their lives outside of cities and to own their own homes rather than rent.

by the Los Angeles Times and Reality Check Insights reveals that cities are becoming less appealing for most Americans — with dreams of lush lawns and open skies being ascendant even for millennials.Today, 38% of Americans would move to a small town or rural area if they could pick anywhere to live in the country. Around 33% would opt to move to a suburb of some sort, and just 24% would want to live in a city.

Married millennials are even more likely to want to move to the country — 31% compared with 21% for singles. A quarter of families — both with and without children under 18 — say they would like to move to rural America. Having children doesn’t seem to drive the move to rural areas. Read this in today's paper, and it's a great example of how out of touch is with it's reporting and opinion pieces. Us millennials love the cities we were born and raised in. The problem is assholes in gov that rig the cities functions to continue financial exploitation.

Well they can't afford big cities. What do you expect.

Oh we're interested we're just all broke

lauferlaw opinion Oh but I thought L.A. and California were dying. Fun fact! We’re not dying.

lauferlaw opinion No one can buy houses with their salaries nowadays. Only renting and even then because you have to make a pretty good salary. Something is wrong if you have to work three to four jobs to make the mortgage payment or rent.

opinion It' me, me, me with these millies

opinion Out of all of my friends, only one married couple was able to buy a house, and it wasn't because they could afford it on their salaries. They had inheritance, and acknowledged how lucky they were. Millennials are being blocked out by investor buyers, and it's a huge problem.

opinion Yet another clueless op-ed on Millennial habits. We are poor, not picky.
