THE Department of the Interior and Local Government ordered all local government units to enact ordinances on the installation of closed-circuit television systems.Interior Secretary Eduardo Año said the order is a requirement for the issuance of business permits to establishments catering to a large number of customers, and to those that are at risk or hazard-prone.

We must work in synergy toward a more peaceful community,' he said.Año said CCTV footage has always complemented the investigation of law enforcement units and led to the resolution of many criminal cases.
