Forbes says these 15 companies are Alabama’s best employers

This photo is after a recent upgrade.The results of a new survey show not only homegrown companies, but national corporations with extensive operations in the state.with its fourth survey of the best employers in each state, ranking 1,382 companies around the U.S., with results for each state.

The ratings were then compiled to rank up to 101 employers in each state, depending on the size of its workforce. Lockheed Martin comes in at ninth, with locations in Huntsville, Anniston, Troy, and Enterprise. Raytheon Technologies, the aerospace and weapons manufacturer employing more than 1,000 in the Huntsville area, is eighth.

At five is the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. The City of Hoover School System is fourth, with approximately 1,800 employees.Coming in second is Southern Company, the parent company of Alabama Power, which employs more than 6,000 people in the state.
