The information sheets included a recently-deleted statement that methane 'may play a role' in climate change, which independent Senator David Pocock says is 'straight out of the fossil fuel industry misinformation guide'.

"It should have stated that methane is a greenhouse gas and plays a role in climate change," a spokesperson said.Instead, the information sheets were first adapted into a "plain English" version, before being translated into First Nations languages.

The Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association, which represents the gas industry, told the ABC it was not involved in the scripting or production of the information sheets. Marion Scrymgour, the Labor Member for Lingiari – a federal seat that covers the Beetaloo – said information given to Indigenous communities should not have any links back to the fracking sector.

"I do not support the gas industry influencing information that will help Traditional Owners and Native Title Holders make informed decisions about their country," Ms Scrymgour told the ABC."This did concern me and I raised this with the Minister for Science Ed Husic. It was great to see this quickly rectified," Ms Scrymgour said.

DrRimmer Dysfunction at the CSIRO is another result of the ATM years. Purposely sabotaged by the LNP.

Righto.

The I in CSIRO is Industrial. Their sole purpose is to give scientific support to industry. It has always been that way. I’d be more concerned the ABC, with independence in its charter, and it’s links to left wing activist groups.

The federal gov says they have no control over the workings at CSIRO but i was wondering who appoints the CEO, the board etc? They aren’t listed on the stock exchange.

Pretty sure MichaelWestBiz covered this and throughly about 12/18 months ago! AbC late and as half arsed at the previous government

I thought csiro was owned by energy providers, if not owned they’ll be fully funded by them.

Have been gutted and under funded by the LNP as well. We need all govt dept such as CSIRO and BOM audited as they may not adequately staff left to function properly. My first question is why?
