United Airlines told Insider in a statement that two passengers and three crew members had minor injuries and went to the hospital after the Monday flight landed. "United flight 128 encountered unexpected turbulence while enroute to Houston," a statement from the airline said. "Upon arrival, two passengers and three crewmembers were met by medical personnel and taken to a local hospital with minor injuries."
Flight 128 was travelling from Brazilian city Rio de Janeiro to Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport, CNN reported. It landed at 05:21,United Airlines added that"We're grateful to our crew for their efforts to ensure the safety of our employees and customers."Multiple people were also injured on a Hawaiian Airlines flight 35 on Sunday from Phoenix, Arizona to Honolulu, Hawaii.
