Ground Culture is a cafe, a deli, and a co-working office space located in Observatory, but more than that, it is a platform to develop and grow support for entrepreneurs in and around Cape Town.

Daniels founded Ground Culture with the goal of integrating all of the products of township entrepreneurs into the formal sector. He met Lufefe Nomjana of Spinach King, Msokoli Zilani of Ubusi Honey, and Sikelela Dibela of Siki’s Koffee Kafe while continually visiting Khayelitsha to better understand the informal sector.

Ground Culture aims to be the first point of contact for entrepreneurs testing out products to get their foot in the door, and it reinvests 10% of all profits back into the businesses with which it collaborates. It isn’t easy competing against big franchises, and Ground Culture has had its bumps along the way, but the company culture’s core is supporting small-scale entrepreneurs that are passionate about making a difference in their communities.
