Environment Minister Catherine McKenna said the final details of the plan are being worked out with business associations

Minister of Environment and Climate Change Catherine McKenna speaks to reporters during a press conference on the Climate Action Incentive at a Canadian Tire store in Ottawa on Mar. 4, 2019.The federal government’s plan to ease the carbon-price burden on small businesses will include rebate payments to cover some of the cost of making energy-efficiency upgrades.

The federal carbon price of $20 per tonne of carbon dioxide will start being charged April 1 on fossil-fuel inputs in Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and New Brunswick – the four provinces without an equivalent provincial carbon price. About 90 per cent of the money will go to individuals when they file their income taxes in the coming weeks.

Energy-efficiency rebates, she said, can also be quite complicated and have in the past required spending on an energy audit up front. Banks also don’t want to lend money for these projects, she said, making it hard to finance the work before getting the rebate.

What a load of crap. The majority plan is being paid by small business! It is like the Liberals rob you of everything then flip you a loonie for a bus to the nearest shelter. Who can trust a Liberal? CarbonTax cdnpoli snclavalinscandal

When business starts paying this Carbon Tax, do you think the price will go up on their goods and/or service?Ultimately the consumer pays...that's you and me (the tax payer). I tiny rebate at the end of the year won't matter when life just got exorbitantly more expensive 🤔

What about big business that funds all this shit and has to implement one thing after another....?

Oh please shut her up already ,oh that's right we're working on that 😂

Looks like there is some political climate change happening.

Freebies and hand outs starts. Put country in financial hole before October election. Its win win for liberal. Buy vote and win, or lose and leave next government with financial mess.

More vote buying? Gee must be an election year.

Thee was no tax paid in 2018! What rebate?

Not nearly enough at the moment. If the Liberals hand the election to the Conservatives I will never forgive them. Fix the mess and fix it now. JT step down and Ms Freeland should take over.
