The Filipino film “Filipiñana” by director Rafael Manuel won three awards at the 2023 Asian Project Market being held as part of the Busan International Film Festival in Busan, South Korea.
The APM “is a first launched co-production platform in Asia that offers emerging filmmakers the opportunity to meet international leading film professionals.” “Filipiñana,” a Philippines, Singapore and UK production, won the TAICCA Award, ArteKino International Award, and Kongchak Studio Award. About the film, Manuel said, “To my mind, the golf course is a perfect metaphor for Philippine society; a very large and fertile area of land, toiled and worked upon by so many, but ultimately enjoyed by only a privileged few.”
