A fire outbreak at the popular Ladipo plank market, Baale Roundabout, Orile-Iganmu, Lagos State has destroyed property worth millions of naira. The fire it was learnt started at about midnight on Wednesday. The spokesperson for the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency , Nosa Okunbor, has confirmed the incident. He said the agency received distress calls through its 767/112 Toll-Free Emergency lines at about 12:04 am and activated its Cobra Response Team from Onipanu.
According to him, upon arrival at the scene at 12:42 am, responders discovered that a section of the plank market had caught fire. Okunbor said further investigations revealed that the inferno started from a pile of planks due to a power surge and then spread quickly to the three shops.
