Alnwick Gardens, nestled in Northumberland, is a hidden gem that many have yet to discover in the north of England. During a road trip with friends, we chanced upon this enchanting spot, and it has stayed in my thoughts ever since .
The garden felt like something out of a Romeo and Juliet-style romantic scene, more akin to Italy than England.Despite its size, the garden is impeccably maintained, which is quite impressive, reports the Express. Entry for adults costs £18.50, a price I believe is well worth it, and up to four children can enter free of charge.
Details of upcoming events can be found on Alnwick Garden's website. The summer music nights and winter light shows, held annually, particularly caught my eye. For me, the standout was undoubtedly the rose gardens, boasting 300 shrub roses and available for wedding bookings. The space was crafted by David Austin roses and made its debut at the Chelsea Flower Show in 2001.
