A 17-year-old teenager has been charged with the murder of 16-year-old Deveney Nel who was killed at the Overberg High School in Caledon, Western Cape.
Eric Ntabazalila, National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson, says the suspect made his first court appearance at the Caledon Magistrate’s Court this morning.Ntabazalila has confirmed that the case has been adjourned for further investigation. “We can confirm that he appeared this morning, he is charged with murder. His case has been postponed to the 18th of September for further investigation, he will be kept in a place of safety until then. He is a minor which means that he cannot be identified directly or indirectly because he is a minor.” Ntabazalila stated.
