The Ibrox gaffer had a busy summer of activity with the majority of his recruits brought in early doors. After moving on the likes of Todd Cantwell, Scott Wright and Ben Davies to Blackburn Rovers and Birmingham City, he was able to bring in two deadline recruits. Defender Neraysho Kasanwirjo arrived from Feyenoord on loan while around £3.5m was splashed out on Nedim Bajrami.
Despite all the ins and outs, the Belgian admits he tried and failed to find a replacement in his team for John Lundstram. He has urged others to step up and fill the hole left by the now Trabzonspor man - but has also hinted he could look to players without clubs at present and bring them on board. They would be able to sign at any point as they are unattached.
Clement speaking in the build-up to facing Celtic at Parkhead said: “Yes, we talked about that within the club and that was the initial plan. So we now need to find solutions within the squad to do it in a different way to before. "Could we still look at free agents? That’s still a possibility, yes. Connor Barron has been filling that role and Dujon Sterling can do it also, as can Niko Raskin.”
