Despite its reputation as one of Europe's best Christmas markets, Budapest's festive event fell short of expectations. The author, who had anticipated a bustling market with ice skating, numerous stalls, and a festive atmosphere, found a disappointing reality with soggy cardboard, few stalls selling holiday items, and a lack of visitors.

We might have only cracked November, but people are already booking their panto tickets and planning which Christmas markets they are going to hit.
