and it got me thinking. In the past, the head of the company was everything. They were seen as single handedly either setting up the company for success or destroying it. CEO’s would often stay with a company for decades, like the supreme ruler of their own monarchy. They set the vision and everyone was expected to follow.
So if the CEO is no longer a single ruler, what skills and capabilities are needed for a CEO to be successful? It seems the interpersonal, what used to be heavily deemed as “soft skills,” are making their way to the top of the list. Glassdoor’s list showed some common themes among those CEO’s that made it into their coveted top 100. Let’s look at why those themes matter more today than ever.– This, of course, can be defined in many ways.
