National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa says negotiations withNumsa says the national carrier refused to agree to the workers’ revised salary demand of 6.5%.is expected to brief the media in Johannesburg on Wednesday on a way forward with regards to their strike action.
Numsa spokesperson Phakamile Hlubi-Majola says, “We had managed to negotiate various things and we put 6.5% as an offer on the table, they were agreeing to the demand in relation to the in-sourcing demand that we had made. At the 11th hour, the South African Airways management did an about turn and withdrew the 6.5% that was on the table and for us this is completely unacceptable. This is what we call negotiating in bad faith.
