PUTRAJAYA: The government has no plans to use the Land Acquisition Act 1960 to acquire plots of land in Kampung Baru, says Federal Territories Minister Khalid Abdul Samad.

Khalid said that the government's offer was already the best and there was no reason for the landowners not to accept it."Of this figure, 97% had agreed with the redevelopment plan," he said, adding that many allegations were spread via social media.

Khalid said the government would continue to engage landowners to ensure they are onboard with the redevelopment plan.On Oct 25 last year, the government announced its final offer for Kampung Baru landowners of RM1,000 per sq ft.
