Former President FWdeKlerk says the decision to unban apartheid 30 years ago was consciously driven and not made under pressure.

Sunday marks the 30th Anniversary of De Klerk's announcement of the release of former President Nelson Mandela from prison and the unbanning of all political parties

De Klerk says despite ongoing speculation about his motive for the decision, it was done for the good of the country.

These two ba dlalile ngathi. Freedom ngephepha asina niks. Umhlaba wonke usebalungini

We’re so far behind in terms of adult conversation. We’re in the kindergarten sandpit throwing sand in each other’s faces while the other kids are doing their MBA’s.The tragedy is that we’ve been in the pit for years and the gap between SA and the developed world is ever widening.

You may not like de klerk? But we are using all the dams and powerstations built back then and built without loans from China.

The rand was 3.40 to the dollar in 1994 people. Think about that?

FWdeKlerkFoun

Sophie_Mokoena De Klerk is misrepresenting the facts as usual. That decision was made under pressure with his Broederbond screaming and kicking. The apartheid government was given no choice in the matter.

The old man is a liar. Have conscience and give back the land to the African indigenous. FWdeKlerk sabcnuus

So he is trying to say they had done all that needed to be done to ensure that the economic future of one race is safe for as long as we live while the other race will continue to live under dire circumstances of poverty

Wisdom brothers, wisdom!!!

That's a lie

Yea right

We need his apology

JERRR, F W De Deklerk still denies that apartheid government in SA didn't have a choice but unban all the political parties, send to release political prisoners. What a shame

I remember that fateful day and shall never forget it , your predecessors had vowed that South Africa would never grant black people freedom. So what Mr F.W. de Klerk did shook the whole world and I'm not ashamed to say you are one of the greatest leaders in South Africa .

And he expects us to believe that 😈

You forgot 'apartheid' between former and president

He is a liar, it was pressure and sanctions that drove them to denounce apartheid

🙄🙄

Our vote in 92 convinced him.

You see this is what happens when you give liars a platform to talk. Now De klerk wants us to believe this nonsense.

Sophie_Mokoena Tired 😓

God's way is the ONLY way .....🙏💬🇿🇦💌

All am is if he can apologize for apartheid and the Masses forgive him. I don’t see a reason not to forgive Zuma. Merely because Zuma never killed anyone... I know am contradicting the EFF stance but logic dictates if you know what I mean💬💬💬

De Klerk is not a former president,,he is a former deputy president and a former apartheid President

😂😂 when are we arresting this man ?

Jeepers this old man. He makes it look like was a favour.

And he knows he's lying.
