Twitter is testing a new feature that would show warnings below tweets from politicians and public figures that have been flagged as misleading by users, according toLarge, brightly colored labels would appear below tweets reported as "harmfully misleading," according to NBC.
This latest experiment suggests Twitter will continue to rely on community input as it tries to fight misinformation.
While flagging content, users would be asked three questions, according to NBC: whether the tweet is "likely" or "unlikely" harmfully misleading, how many users out of 100 would agree with them, and why the tweet is misleading. "We're exploring a number of ways to address misinformation and provide more context for Tweets on Twitter. This is a design mockup for one option that would involve community feedback. Misinformation is a critical issue and we will be testing many different ways to address it," a Twitter spokesperson told Business Insider in an emailed statement.
SAI Twitter
SAI Can we just mark all tweets by politicians as false or misleading? Would have a fairly high accuracy rate that way...
techinsider So basically every one of donald’s tweets?
Will there then be a second factchecker phase after a certain threshold or will there be a way of detecting bots from smearing political campaigns?
What will happen then to realDonaldTrump tweets!? 🤣
techinsider Power (back) to the masses (or at least some of them)
Much needed, fake news & propaganda has crossed all limits. thanks in advance jack
Its good
What’s the difference with the system we have now? We only follow the people we want to interact with. It might be a politician like AOC, so we can correct her ignorance. So rather than words I can click a button that labels her tweets misleading or false?
Good grief lol 😂 ThursdayThoughts politics Twitter
Who determines if something is false? When a politician says gun control saves lives, or a politician says gun ownerships saves lives. Do people who hold opposing views get to randomly make the determination its false because they disagree with it?
SAI lol this photo , in a ' Caption This ' it looks like Jack is saying ' i didn't consent to this ' 🤣 btw Wikipedia & Reddit are never reliable sources for any kind of truth , so idk what hole you pulled that fable rabbit tale from .
