Airline companies including some of the most well-known in the industry are facing their biggest challenge due to Covid-19 pandemic, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Mustapa MohamedAccording to him, this is a global phenomenon with giant airlines such as Emirates and Singapore Airlines have also been affected, not to mention Malaysia Airlines which has faced various challenges before the outbreak.

“Companies like Malaysia Airlines, AirAsia and even Malindo Air are big employers. Certainly requires a different action,” Mustapa said onHowever, he did not elaborate on the timing and actions the government would take to help Malaysian airline companies.

Why do govt ever want to think of saving airlines when the short terl future is bad. Why not use the monies to domestic companies SMEs instead as they employ bigger numbers and will be back bone of country. Allocate correctly with limited funds.
