"As a writer, I create content that solves a problem or answers a question my audience has. The crisis has changed both the topics I write about and the tone I use because my audience's daily lives have changed. For example, I wrote a lot of dating content. But seeing as people aren't dating anymore because of social distancing, I've shifted my focus to relationships and specifically how they've changed due to the novel virus.

I thought for sure business would increase as well, unfortunately everyone is fearing outsiders coming into their home . I’m using my time now to write and photograph a uniquely beautiful baking book with all my best recipes. I’m also creating a line of eco friendly cat products and a healthy soda. As a consultant I’m helping other companies reform their strategy and branding. I built a team and started a new company Emiva Media Ltd in order to be able to scale these projects and to work together with other creatives more easily.

Pre-corona, in making the products, I decided to reduce the carbon footprint by staying local , which is far more expensive to do, but it supports small businesses and the local economy in the US and Canada, it’s a 3rd generation women-led team, and they have eco-friendly practices. Overall, it felt more aligned with my values. I am so relieved.

My move to [a new brokerage] has been fortuitous in that they offer a phenomenal digital platform and recently released Virtual Agent Services, a suite of marketing and connectivity tools to help us serve our clients, while making social distancing and safety the priority. Working with a team that has a support staff to handle from contract to close has been a lifesaver for me as I have two children home with me now Monday-Friday.
