Funds to save airline companies hit by Covid-19 not a bailout, says Nufam

Sunday, 07 Jun 2020 05:41 PM MYT

Its president Ismail Nasaruddin said the massive ‘overnight’ losses incurred by the airlines were not due to mismanagement but it was an abrupt halt in world travel. Ismail said the ailing airline industry in Malaysia is in need of urgent help from the government as more than 100,000 employees, including pilots, flight attendants and ground staff have been hit with either a salary freeze or forced to take massive salary cuts.

“Many of these workers had their allowances frozen or reduced fand were forced take pay cuts when Malaysia and most other countries grounded flights to contain the spread of the virus,” he said.

It's a bailout..one way or another, you fool.

I dont agreed on wasting our money on MAS because it been bailout few time and yet still failed. So its a failed company which serve no value to the rakyat. Its our tax payer money, better use it on other more benefit and return on investments so we can have more benefits

MAS to be sold or merged with whoever with cash, whoever meaner than our politicians and holier than thou entity. Both AirAsia & malindoair are none of state's business neither are anybody's private fleet. MuhyiddinYassin must drop this glamorous yet least profitable industry
