Trader Joe's says it is renaming international products after an online petition said that names like Trader Ming's and Trader José were racist

The packaging in question features names like "Trader Ming's," "Arabian Joe's," and "Trader José," among others. Trader Joe's statement follows a slew of retail companies changing branding and mascots with racist roots in response to consumer action this year.Trader Joe's responded to an online petition calling for the removal of "racist" packaging from its international foods, saying that it has already been in the process of phasing it out for several years., which was started on Change.
