TRIPADVISOR has clamped down on fraudulent, paid-for reviews after a man in Italy was imprisoned for selling fake review packages to hospitality businesses.

Long overdue, this has been happening since TA started. Numerous providers contacted them and were usually told there was nothing TA could do. There policy was reviewers could lie but hotels could accuse the reviewers of lying.
