Employees who failed the phishing email test were invited to retake the company's security training instead. The world's largest domain registrar and web hosting company, GoDaddy, is facing backlash for duping employees with a phishing test disguised as a holiday bonus announcement. Recipients were asked to submit personal information by December 18. So, is this like one of the 12 lessons from the CEO?

I’m not sure about this

Nice way to check on trigger happy employees!! 👍

delightful reading..

This is some level of Harassment

Brutal.

boycottgodaddy

Fair enough

Feels like expecting a Christmas bonus and instead being subscribed to “Jelly of the month club” 🤣🤣🤣 Hopefully management realizes it was in poor taste, even from a company security standpoint, and apologizes.

Welp, if you see the whole story as a person waiting for holiday bonus, that would be big pisses. But, did you think about if it wasnt a test but a real phising attack? Cybersecurity is no joke. Take that seriously.

IBM used to do that when I worked there. Never like that or at Christmas, but they took security seriously. If you caught it and forwarded it to the spam team, you 'passed'

What hurts most is when the due date is 25th Dec😂

In Europe people would get a 13th check, which was really a Christmas bonus. Here, only the big whigs get such a bonus. The worker bees get a sharp stick in the eye.

“Hello it is me your employer godaddy plz send your name and address and social security number and banking information so we can pay you a bonus because we don’t already have this info. If you don’t no money for you.” If you thought this was real, I have a bridge to sell you.

tsk

That’s a pretty disappointing and sad move by the company. That email was probably the only good news the employees received all of 2020 and it was a fraud. The exercise couldnt have been good for employee morale.

Mean

LMAO

zjmac21 well... you pass the test?

Stupid terrorist 🤮

What garbage, a few days before Christmas. Stupid ass company.

Yep

That's only acceptable if in the end they do actually give employees that bonus. And the email, and where it took you, must have also looked fraudulent. If not, then that's not fair either.

Dick move on GoDaddy’s part.

When my employer, DOD, sends out a phishing exercise email, it's never so tempting I always pass the test, I don't know what they do to people that failed the test

Merry Christmas! You get a security training this year haha

That is a shitty employee exercise.

Epic!

this is terrible news
