House lawmakers have asked more than two dozen travel companies to help thwart potential terror threats around Inauguration Day.

to Thursday, asking the companies to voluntarily take action “to ensure that your services are not being used to facilitate violence or domestic terrorism.”

Committee chairwoman Rep. Carolyn Maloney asked companies to impose “additional screening measures” around Inauguration Day travel in Washington D.C. and across the country, as well as retain records for potential future investigations and provide the committee with documentation by Jan. 29 about what policies are in place to ensure their services are not being used for domestic terrorism.

The other companies contacted by the House Oversight Committee—including Hyatt, Marriott, Greyhound, Expedia, Hertz and Enterprise—have not yet responded to requests for comment.
