Biden reverses Trump's major environmental rollbacks with executive orders rejoining the Paris accord, cancelling the Keystone pipeline, and ending drilling in the Arctic wildlife refuge

Two crossed lines that form an 'X'. It indicates a way to close an interaction, or dismiss a notification.President Joe Biden signed major executive orders reversing three significant environmental and climate change policies pursued by former President Donald Trump.

He also revoked a critical presidential permit for the Keystone XL oil pipeline and temporarily halted oil and gas leasing in Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Just a few hours after being sworn in as the 46th US president on Wednesday, Joe Biden signed executive orders reversing three significant environmental and climate change policies pursued by former President Donald Trump.

Also on Wednesday, Biden revoked a critical presidential permit for the Keystone XL oil pipeline almost exactly four years after Trump approved the project. Obama halted construction of the pipeline, which would have carried crude oil from Alberta, Canada to the Gulf Coast of the US, in 2015. Many Democrats, environmental advocates, and Native American communities strongly objected to the $8 billion pipeline, about 300 miles of which has already been built.

Biden also temporarily halted oil and gas leasing in Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, which would have become one of Trump's most destructive environmental legacies. The 45th president auctioned off drilling leases on the previously protected land in one of his last acts in office.

If I have my way I will advice you invest in Bitcoin, now Bitcoin is the world biggest cryptocurrency, on here I saw a recommendation of louishud98 about a profitable cloud bitcoin mining opportunity I gave it a try now I’m up above 100% portfolio thanks to louishud98

plopfictionally was researching and it's a lot more far right folks posting complaining but I found one that just says it.

It’s pretty sweet that the price of gas is up 40 cents a gallon since Election Day- no doubt in anticipation of these destructive policies.

It’s not like decreasing US supplies decreases US usage. Now it will be shipped further from the Middle East costing more and increased pollution due to shipping.

Get ready for $5 a gallon folks!

Sure this will go along way in achieving the Fed’s inflation objectives. Not sure how your supporters will feel when they’re struggling to put food on the table and costs to fill their tank double... but hey; why not?

Trump counted on paying for farmers votes touting failed Ethanol and EV cars don’t work . Biden said he would end Oil subsidies and on focus modern Electric car development , unlike Trump who was buying votes with Agricultural Welfare Blended Ethanol for Gas . and you paid for it

alexplitsas Prices are headed up already

The Paris accord won’t reduce pollution, it only makes things more expensive and certain people will profit probably democratic contributors.

Why kill the keystone! It was helping the US. No explanation, only killed it because Trump approved it.

👏.... jobs lost .....

Lol cancelled Keystone, they should've worked harder to get it finished 😂

Silver up

That North Dakota pipeline

Disastrous* Also, I don't mean to sound Anti-Trump, but there's a possibility it could stir up a pole reversal. I think drilling in the Artic should not happen our life time or any life time. Things are too fragile.

I think re-joining the Paris Accord is the right idea. I was for Keystone though. I'm not even going to lie. I wanted us to build an energy reserve that would last. However, I trust him and I think he knows what he's doing. I think drilling in the Artic would be diasterous.

Hope it sticks

Yay, higher gas prices soon. 🤮
