The number of suspects arrested for their alleged role in the Phoenix murders, in the north of Durban, has now risen to 36 from 22.

As the detectives continue to investigate this matter claim the figure of 36 is not a correct reflection, Cele told the communities, once more, that during the mid-July unrest that led to the killings, the police did not do their job, hence some communities decided to go at it alone in trying to restore order.

He also did not shy away from saying the attacks had racial undertones, as most black people who were attacked were not attacked because they were found engaging in illegal acts, but they were attacked because of their race and they happened to pass by the area during the time of the attack. Responding to growing public outcry that those arrested for the Phoenix murders did not have their faces and names not revealed to the public, Cele said his justice and correctional services counterpart Minister Ronald Lamola had told him that was because there was a pending identity parade.

Evidence?

We dnt care about those things..... We wana see their identity!!!

We hear as many updates on this as on the vaccination roll out

The premier says we are ready? Like in July? PS this article erroneously says state of emergency was declared? The Mayor of Durban and Minister & Commissioner of SAPS must be investiged for negligence and incompetence, and could have stopped this killing

Xoliswa Kaunda, Bheki Cele, and KZN Premier Sihle Zikalala, must be investigated for negligence in duties for having ignored the warnings, did little to slow or curb the looting and resultant violence, and even called for the removal of barricades that prevented the escalation!

Cool. Now do farm murders.

There is no greater joy than having financial freedom and life free of debts, that's why I keep posting comment about lisaCammpbel
