Perth’s Velrada has shelved IPO plans and accepted an acquisition offer from Tokyo-listed Nomura Research Institute’s ASG.

Perth-based Microsoft services partner Velrada has cancelled its IPO plans, deciding instead to be acquired by IT services business ASG Group.ASG used to be listed on the ASX but in 2016 was bought by Japanese consulting group Nomura Research Institute for $349 million. NRI is listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange and has US$4.9 billion annual revenue.Velrada was founded 13 years ago by a group including current chief executive Robert Evans and managing director Saul Sabath.

It is an implementation partner for Microsoft, with more than $45 million annual revenue and 200 staff.$30 million IPO and an $80 million valuation.“Velrada’s acquisition allows us to boost our capacity for seamless delivery of Microsoft’s technology, and we are proud to be aligned with a company whose extensive West Australian foothold, and growing global footprint already includes majorco-edits Street Talk, specialising in private equity, investment banking, M&A and equity capital markets.
