Another former jockey, Ron Lockett, said he had been “accidentally” set on fire and spent six months in hospital recovering from the burns. “In light of allegations across the three racing codes, the codes have been engaging with ORIC [Carroll’s office] over recent months to determine how best to support victims and address historical allegations, and to ensure that the appropriate frameworks are now in place to deliver a safe VRI for current and future participants,” a spokesperson on behalf of the VRI said.
“3. Provide a report that details relevant findings and recommendations on measures to achieve best practice across the VRI.”
