CHINESE Ambassador to the Philippines Huang Xilian on Tuesday said Beijing has signed a contract with Manila to finance the construction of the 1,340-meter Davao River Bridge in Davao City.In a Facebook post, Huang said the signing of the commercial contract to construct the bridge is 'another milestone for the Philippine-China G2G cooperation.
Huang said that about '300 to 500 local people will be employed during [the] peak [of the] construction period.''Once completed, it will largely alleviate the east-west traffic congestion in the coastal areas of the city and divert about 35,000 vehicles every day, tremendously improve travel efficiency and help boost the rapid development of the local socio-economy,' he said.
