Sky News host Peta Credlin says Australia is only facing a gas crisis because governments have “thwarted” plans to develop more gas fields.

Ms Credlin said governments and regulators were more concerned about limiting emissions than guaranteeing “affordable and reliable energy”.Read More

Our govts actively talk the sector down. The world is gagging for our gas, but Vic govt say they don’t want it, ban it, now lament that supply follows demand and there isn’t enough here? That there isn’t a gas reserve is a policy failing, not a market failing.

This is the pretence of democratic nations to share wealth or poverty. Surprisingly Europe is paying a prize for US doesn't think it has to share poverty but charge Europe for accepting to share US risk of being overtaken by China or Russia.

As usual Credlin is spewing rubbish.

Actually it's because the government allows gas companies to export all of it more gas fields won't change that only legislation forcing Australian gas to be supplied in Australia before exporting any will fix it

Ruin the land for a bit of gas when solar and wind is available. Just get serious about solar and save the environment

What a failure australia has become. We have no fuel reserves, no gas reserves. We don’t use nuclear, we have a completely dysfunctional parliament, we cant protect ourselves in time of war. In fact we rely on other countries for protection

Most of our problems are self-inflicted - from gas, to inflation, to overpopulation, to excessive debt, to poor military defence, to negligible international sway, to you-name-it... If only we voted for ideas, not personalities.

Wrong Peta. Regardless of thwarted plans Australia should still have domestic gas reservation plan and laws. Big oil doesn’t care about Australians.

No, they are purchasing gas from a 3rd supplier and then adding it to their ‘export’ as authorised. 🤐🇦🇺

Oh FFS. What a load of rubbish. We are facing a gas crisis because the gas companies choose to sell OUR gas off shore and not to Australian consumers. Greed. The crisis is because of Greed.

Has she got the Murdoch supplied feed bag off her face yet?
