Canadian company Somedays aims to break down the stigma surrounding menstrual cramps by putting men’s tolerance for suffering to the test with a period-pain simulator.

The simulator contracts the muscles to imitate abdominal cramps, similar to what many experience during menstruation while still going about their daily activities. Perry says, while period pain is experienced worldwide, it is often minimized or ignored, despite its debilitating impact.

Those with endometriosis are also often forgotten, Perry says, as many who are diagnosed with this disease that affects the uterus can experience chronic pain that is often mistaken for period pain. According to the, in their lifetime 1 in 10 women and girls, as well as an unmeasured numbers of transgender, non-binary, and gender-diverse individuals, will be diagnosed with endometriosis.

On the period pain simulator, a level of 10 and higher approaches the typical level of endometriosis pain, while level 5 simulates average period pain.

Pain being a very subjective measurement and the female body has a more intense natural response to painful stimulation. Not sure how valid the results will be.

I love this company. Mine is Mild-Moderate Endometriosis. So pain level is definitely 10 or higher. A great film for education on Endo just came out as well - called “ Endo What?”

Uses the word “men” in the headline” and twist themselves stupid in the actual article to avoid using the the word “women”. We see you. EverybodyKnows SexNotGender SexBasedRights

Many of us experience pain on a daily or monthly basis. I really have no sympathy

As a trans women my pain is way worse than any men or womb caring people and to deny that would be bigoted!

No simulator needed for me. This guy is a softy!

I have a bunch of jokes for this (Some that would get me blocked on this thing..... Honestly..... Respect to the ladies who have to put up with this, and a bunch of stuff most men have no clue whatsoever women put up with and endure)

Lol, as I got older I got leg pains. Literally wanted to cut my legs off a couple times. Yeah and try sleeping, not.

Some of the comments are comparing the menstrual pain to hit to the privates. Sure. Let's go with that. However it has to be constant hits 24 hrs/day for 5 - 7 days (on average). Now do it every month. Actually average cycle is shorter so sometimes twice in a month.

Why don’t they test trans people pain tolerance? Asking for a friend.

The world is fucked!

I imaging it feels like a kick in the nuts.

several random dudes in the videos for this article went up to 10 in the period pain pretty effortlessly this despite never having experienced it before in their lives not sure what the issue is

No words! I can’t even read this bullsh*t. Doesn’t the media have something better to do? Investigating the corruption of JustinTrudeau would be a good start.

Ya ever been kicked in the balls?

What!! What about the pregnant men out there? They would know!! 😂

I'm confused. If men can give birth, why did they have to use a simulator? Why not just ask a man how his period feels?

Now do labour lol

Why

The verbal abuse that men endure from mood swings can be excruciating.

It feels like someone is digging around with a hot rusty spoon that they have scraped on the cement floor to make into a shiv.

They wouldn’t last 5 minutes 🤣🤣🤣 truth

Is it weird that I'm a 41 year old male and haven't had my period yet?

😂😂😂

Ridiculous

Men don't have period pain, silly! 😆

Does 'people who don’t have periods' include post-menopausal people who want to relive their glory days? How about pre-pubescent people so they know what to expect? woof

Why?

random dude did it pretty effortlessly up to 10 in the video all while having never experienced it in his life before not sure what the issue is

they should do kick in the balls pain for women not the fake ones with balls but the ones with ovaries and a natural vagina

Wait? There’s a ‘mens’ something? I thought there was no difference?

Well make sure it is turned way up.

Can’t men get periods too now?

Ha! I’d love to see this! Can they go through endometriosis pain?

More sexist nonsense.

Easy peasy

Media outlet goes with men and women, faces the wrath of the woke.

Far beyond lame

The headline has the word “men” in it but the article pretzels itself to avoid the word “women” within it so as to not offend those who weren’t born as one. Make it make sense. EnoughIsEnough SexNotGender SexBasedRights

It aint no thang

In the article there are references to men and people who don’t have periods and non-menstruating people. The word WOMEN is entirely exempt from the text. We need feminist writers and editors to expurge this type of language.

Why?

😂

Liberal men think words hurt. Not a fair test.

Before or after the vax?

We simply can't sustain half of the women's pain. Period
