A civic rights organisation, the Rule of Law and Accountability Advocacy Centre (RULAAC) has condemned the invasion of the offices of ABC Transport Company along Eta Agbo Street in Calabar, and the unprovoked brutal attacks on staff of the company and their neighbors by operatives of the Cross River command of the Nigeria Police Force. The unprovoked assault on the staff of the firm according to RULAAC in statement on Monday, signed by its Executive Director, Okechukwu Nwanguma, happened on Thursday November 10, 2022.

Rights Group, RULAAC Condemns Nigerian Police’s Invasion, Unlawful Arrest, Detention Of Transport Company, ABC Workers In Cross RiverA civic rights organisation, the Rule of Law and Accountability Advocacy Centre has condemned the invasion of the offices of ABC Transport Company along Eta Agbo Street in Calabar, and the unprovoked brutal attacks on staff of the company and their neighbors by operatives of the Cross River command of the Nigeria Police Force.

According to the statement, the notorious and vicious policemen also attacked the staff of the company together with passengers and staff of other neighboring businesses and caused serious damage and grievous harm. Calling on the Inspector General of Police Usman Baba to fish out all the policemen involved in the brutal attack, RULAAC said that it is"concerned that the conduct of the police officers amount to an unjustifiable act of unprovoked aggression and display of raw power.

"Delay of a waybill could have been resolved through civil means. It should not call for violence, assault, abuse of firearms and arrest and detention of workers of ABC Transport service.
