Phoenix-based fireplace and grill manufacturer RPG Brands’ growth has been in hyperdrive since the onset of the pandemic.
This rapid growth garnered RPG Brands the Rookie of the Year award at the Phoenix Business Journal's annual Arizona Corporate Excellence event. He credits his father with being a “huge part” of his company’s success by funding the initial startup and giving him that safety net to make mistakes. Even in the early days of the company, when he was in his early ‘20s, his father kept his distance when it came to running the manufacturing business to let him learn by making his own decisions, whether they were good or bad. And with nearly every growth story, it involves a “little bit of luck,” Richardson said.
Plus, the manufacturing operation never shut down during the pandemic, and they never ran out of anything, he said.
