Texas played a significant part in supplying LNG, with the Port of Corpus Christi having the second-highest amount of LNG exports nationwide. The report did not identify the No. 1 location. The Port of Corpus Christi had 90.1 million tons of LNG move through it from January to June of this year. There was an average of 11.5 billion cubic feet of LNG exported from the U.S. from January to April of 2022, marking an 18% increase from the same period in 2021. In the first half of 2022, 74% of all U.S. exports went to Europe, which was a 40% increase from 2021. Russian piped natural gas exported to Europe and the United Kingdom also decreased by 40% from January to July of 2022, highlighting the need for U.S. LNG.
The Russian-Ukraine conflict is ongoing, and the United States and Texas will likely continue supplying the region with significant amounts of oil.
