86 African business owners graduate from Alibaba Netpreneur Training

The Alibaba Netpreneur Training Program has concluded and 86 African business owners have successfully graduated.

Held from mid-October to mid-November by the professional training arm of the Chinese ecommerce giant, Alibaba Global Initiatives , the Africa-specific edition of the program wasInitially, 360 African entrepreneurs and startup founders from industries such as agriculture, education, information and communication technology , and trading were selected to receive training. Alibaba said that the candidates were selected following a “rigorous” process from countries across Africa.

To date, AGI says it has successfully trained more than 1 800 entrepreneurs across all of its programs in digital skills and in harnessing digital technology to expand their business offerings. “Attending webinars led by a group of people who had really made the journey was quite inspiring. My biggest takeaway is getting to know what business digitalization means,” said Monde.
