Can the Chinese government get your data from TikTok? Analysts weigh in

In the past two weeks, at least seven states have said they will bar public employees from using the app on government devices, including Alabama, Maryland, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Utah and Texas. Last week, the state of Indiana announced two lawsuits against TikTok accusing the Chinese-owned platform of misrepresenting its approach to age-appropriate content and data security.

Last week, amid the pushback from the states, the company said it would restructure its US-focused content moderation, policy and legal teams under US Data Security, a special group within the company that’s led by US-based officials and walled off organizationally from other teams focused on the rest of the world.

Who cares

don't care don't use the platform

I think I should take more attention with Facebook, Twitter and IG. Because they also can steal my data to the Washington.

Anyone who's smart does not use tick tock

Can the American oligarchy/government get your data through Google and Facebook?

Are you kidding me, they already have it...come on man

Donald Trump and Republican Representatives are more dangerous to America than TicTok!!!!!

Ummmm. Read the user agreement. Yes.

Of course but does anybody care

You probably heard that President Xi of China recently visited Saudi Arabia to sign trade deals with the Prince, you know, The Pariah. His visit was more productive than that of President Biden.

LOL of course they can, why do you think it was set up for? They had all these Americans watching under-age girls dancing on cam. I have often wondered how many got blackmailed.

The USA had spying concerns? Surprise!! The Chinese probably got the idea from , yes, you guessed it. You are absolutely correct.

Chúng ta đâu rồi Ai là Chúng tôi

Quỷ dâm hãy ngừng chiến tranh Ai kiểm soát Twitter

remove TikTok from all US apps

The US Gov, including the NSA and other departments can and do the same. This has even been made public in the past. You are only shining the spotlight on TikTok as it is Chinese and US big tech are threatened by China's possible overtaking. Enough with the propaganda!

Most apps does. If you put all your personal information there. If Facebook, tweeter, google chrome, you tube have access to your data why does it matter if TikTok do similar.

How many times have you been notified that your private info may have been exposed by hackers? I even got notice from the OPM that my data had been hacked. Yea, TicToc is the problem.

if you want to post your sh$t they can because you agree to it, and maybe they give you money to have your channel

American owned tech companies are corrupt so use your imagination to figure out how bad a China owned tech company is. China's market isn't open to our tech companies. It's illogical to allow tiktok to exist in America. The basic concept is already cloned. We'll be fine.

I could give a shit less about the data thing, all big platforms do that; it's that the app turns teen's brains into liquid sludge...

Anyone with the slightest computer skills can get anyones information at anytime. Outlawing a social media app is not what a free country does. If we resort to the tactics used by the Chinese communist party, we are no better than them.

Can

Finally! This is definitely a bipartisan country wide problem.

Yes!!!!

So when you banning shadows because it might an alien trying to find where you live... oh the paranoia/racism never ends with America.... and Trump is still not in jail....

That's right

ask elonmusk

FBI, Pentagon and CIA say yes they can get it

China doesn’t need data from Tiktok. What they’re doing is much more clever, turning the generations of the US into imb*eciles one TikTok at a time. And they are winning, be sure of it.Follow libsoftiktok 🤣🙌 to watch the great results. You’re welcome!

I hat kind of a moron uses TikTok anyway? Time to grow up, kids.

If US can get from Twitter & FB why Chinese couldn’t from TikTok?

Boycott TikTok

In short, Yes. But also TikTok corrupts minds of young people.

yo analysts, took me 10 seconds.

WTF, leave them alone.

Thinking they can’t would take either an insane amount of denial or ignorance
