A new law that went into effect this week requires most California employers to disclose salaries on job listings.

leading teams building network infrastructureNotably, these salary listings do not include any bonuses or equity grants, which many tech companies use to attract and retain employees.

The law could also penalize ambitious workers who are gunning for more money because of their experience or skills, the California Chamber of Commerce said last year when opposing the bill. Some employers might be wary of posting pay to prevent bidding wars for top talent. Employers are required to maintain detailed records of each job title and its wage history, and California's Labor Commissioner can inspect those records. California can enforce the law through fines and can investigate violations. The reports won't be published publicly under the new law.

I just don't apply to jobs that don't list wages .

Why not force California companies to Hire 1/4 of their work force from the streets or under bridges. Your new employee must come from the streets, do you understand this? Next year increase that to 5O% of employees must be homeless. All the problems solved. Give em rides

This law needs to be implemented nation wide for all jobs!

This is really stupid. Why politicians always like to mess around business that feeds everyone, including themselves

Is that a building? If so, what is it?

Very shortly, CA will invalidate and make “illegal” trade secrets. We live among Bolsheviks, here.

California, like here in Oregon, sucks. Run while you can.

Have you seen the jerk around some companies are pulling? Salary range from $130,000-240,000 or $85,000 - $179,000.

Ok now do a story about the cost of living

Because there are not enough reasons for businesses to leave California, let's add another...... 🤣👏

Benioff just held the worst Salesforce all hands call I’ve ever seen. Beyond tone deaf. Beyond disrespect. Zero questions answered, jokes and screwing around, and of course blaming workers. This call did more harm to internal morale than any layoffs. Morale is in FREEFALL

Why is anyone still doing business in that hellscape?

That means no more job listings they will use a recruiter instead.
